Join me for Aromahead Institute’s online class, Aromatherapy for Natural Living, where you’ll learn more ways to use essential oils in your daily life.
I’m Andrea with Aromahead Institute, and I’d like to share an essential oil blend for pain relief that you can roll on.
I’m making it in a cute little 10 ml cobalt blue glass bottle with a stainless steel roller ball top. The Aromatherapy recipe is:
10 ml jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) (1:36)
4 drops Blue Tansy essential oil (Tanacetum annuum) (1:58)
2 drops Lavender essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia) (2:50)
Lavender is such a classic essential oil for pain relief! It’s so relaxing, and can soothe inflammation as it’s calming emotions. And Blue Tansy is a fun essential oil to work with that isn’t as well known. Its color is a beautiful brilliant blue, and it has a very unique aroma—sweet, fruity, and herbaceous. I’ve never smelled another essential oil quite like it!
6 drops of essential oil might not seem like a lot in a blend for pain relief, but it’s actually perfect. If we were using 1 oz (30 ml) of jojoba, we’d use about 18 drops of essential oil. So for 10 ml, 6 drops is good.
At 3:02, I pop the roller top in, and then I’m all set to shake the blend gently and roll it over areas of aches and pains! It’s easy and convenient to apply. I take this blend along with me a lot when I travel. It comes in so useful.
I hope you enjoy this blend, and that you find a few friends in Blue Tansy and Lavender essential oil!
