DIY Immunity Boosting Shot | Wellness Shot Recipe for Flu & Cold Season

With flu and cold season upon us, I am so excited to pull out my juicer and work on wellness and immunity shots for my family. Wellness shots are all the rage, but they are so expensive! Here is a simple DIY to save money and keep you healthy this winter!

I added Amla powder because it’s exceptionally high in Vitamin C, and carries other immune-boosting benefits. I decided to use fresh oregano in place of oregano essential oil because it’s safer (I tend to be wary of ingesting essential oils).

DRINK THE WHOLE SHOT DOWN-IN-ONE IF YOU CAN! IF NOT, SPLIT INTO 2 SHOTS.

You will need some glass bottles. I invested in these little 2-ounce glass bottles You can use them over and over.
Ingredients
– 2 tsp Amla powder
– 1/4 tsp black pepper
– 6 organic lemons, cut into quarters (unpeeled)
– 3 inches of turmeric root peeled*
– 2 inches of ginger root peeled
– 3 cloves garlic, unpeeled
– 1 small bunch of fresh oregano (about 8-10 sprigs)
– 1 – 2 tbsp  organic maple syrup (optional and use 1 dropper of liquid stevia if diabetic)

*If you cannot find fresh turmeric root, you can use 3 tsp of ground turmeric powder instead

Instructions
1. Place the Amla powder and black pepper in the juicing jug (the receptacle in which the juice ends up!)
2. Juice all the ingredients in any order (except for the maple syrup)
3. Add the sweetener – whisk the mixture vigorously
4. Pour into small glass bottles and store for up to 4 days in the fridge.

When To Take It?
– If you feel a bit under the weather
– If you have a tickle in your throat or sore throat
– If you have just started coughing
– If you are going into a germ-filled environment such as an airport or school
– If a family member is sick
– I’ve included every ingredient you need to fight off a nasty virus. Trust me – you’ll thank me for this. And despite the garlic and herbs, it really doesn’t taste too bad. You can always have a delicious chaser standing by, or add a little more maple syrup. A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down!

I do recommend a juicer for this. Any kind of juicer will do, so beg/borrow one ASAP if you don’t own one.
